Hello Everyone,

You all might be aware of the Alia Bhatt deepfake video that’s going viral. There’s a lot of talk about it already.

But why am I writing this blog? Well, we’re not here to discuss what’s in the video or how much it’s spreading on social media platforms.

At FakesAway, our aim is to make you aware of the situation and help you understand how to stop it. That’s what sets us apart from other blogs and articles on the internet.

What is it?

We assume you already know what a deepfake video is. If not, it’s covered in numerous platforms, we won’t delve into it here.

How can we help Alia?

  • Refrain from sharing: Please avoid sharing it with anyone. Social media algorithms work on content sharing, and the more it’s shared, the more it spreads. This could mean more people seeing it, even if it’s harmful. Let’s do the least we can for Alia Bhatt and refrain from spreading it further.
  • Report the content: If you have time, report the content directly using the platform’s reporting/flagging option. All major social media platforms have this feature. Flagging it might lead to the content’s removal. (Our upcoming blogs will be around it)

What to do if you’re in a similar situation?

  • Share it on your stories/highlights to make your audience or fans aware.
  • Educate them on the steps mentioned under point 2.
  • Visit Stop Non-Consensual Intimate Image Abuse | StopNCII.org to make your case for content removal. For more information, watch the following video.

Additional details to keep in mind:

  • When reporting content to stopncii.org, they look for the same media file using hashes across platforms. However, it’s not foolproof as some may alter or remove the hashes. For instance, I found the same video embedded in this post: fitness (@fitness.point00) | Instagram profile. I’ve reported this case and urge you to do the same whenever a similar post/reel pops up on your feeds.
  • Ensure your audience/fans and friends are aware of this situation, so they can support you you in such an extreme situation.
  • Consider hiring Anti-Piracy or Privacy agencies to remove any remaining content from the internet.

That’s all for the moment, folks. We’re eager to hear your thoughts—don’t hesitate to let us know!
